Hi, I’m Sherry Leikin. I learned about the field of coaching and had a strong sense that this was a calling, so I attended Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH) where I completed my Masters in Health and Wellness Coaching in 2014. Since then, I’ve become an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and a Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) through the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC).

Why did I decide to become a health and wellness coach?
I have a strong desire to help people be the best they can be. We all know, deep down, our true desires in life – these goals and visions are often not clear. I can help you to clarify your ideal vision and support you as you move toward it, honoring what’s most important to you in your life. Will there be obstacles blocking your path along the way? Yes, of course! But it’s okay. Together we will help you learn to navigate these obstacles as you gain confidence in taking control of your life. I love to witness the empowerment that arrives when someone makes meaningful, lasting changes in life and moves toward their true potential.

Are you longing to make lasting, beneficial changes in your life? Are you feeling down on yourself because you’re struggling to make changes that last? If so, know that you are not alone. Change is hard! I can help you to learn what’s holding you back and to believe in yourself, empowering you to move forward in life so you can feel fulfilled.

So, who am I and what led me to wellness coaching?
I struggled as a young mother juggling the demands of a career and family of five. I lacked self-confidence and I didn’t take very good care of myself — physically, mentally, or spiritually. I was stressed out and burned out. I didn't eat well or take care of my body. I put the needs of everyone else before my own, not realizing the toll this was taking on not only me, but also on my family. I couldn’t give my family my best because I wasn’t nurturing myself. In essence, I was a “people pleaser.” Since then, I have learned the importance of taking care of myself as a parent, partner, friend, colleague, teacher, and coach – not only for my own benefit, but for all of those whose lives I touch each day. I am a happier and more fulfilled person when I am kind to myself and feel worthy of self-care. With your desire and determination, I can help you to find who you are and who you are meant to be in this world. My passion is helping people to realize their true potential by helping them to cultivate their self-compassion and self-confidence. What may come as a surprise is the realization that making positive changes in these areas can be the bridge to changing many unhealthy lifestyle behaviors.

Every thought we think is creating our future.
